Sailing beginners trailer sailor

In this rookie sailing of the article, I'd like to talk about towing the boat that most of us used to obtain our boats in the water. By a boat trailer as a means of entering the water is the sailing term "Trailer sailor" in mind. Trailer sailor is, what we are comrades!

The boat trailer is an important instrument in the United States is accessed by water that otherwise we could not! The boat trailer is thus an important element of our sailing team, in good condition and kept. The trailer wheels and tires must be in good condition without wear or excess of dry rot and must tire manufacturers correctly inflated after the recommendation.

Wheel bearings must be checked that they are in good shape and lubricated.

Tips:

Use cubes of fat in my sailboat trailer so I can easily add fat.

Tow hook should block easily in your vehicle's tow ball and safely tow. Also the safety chains must wait and not rusty or corroded through. And the connectors must be in good condition as well as. The pendant lights should work and can be easily checked connected to the towing vehicle. The boat winch must be in perfect working condition and the nylon strap must be checked and replaced if it shows signs of wear.

Tips:

Next, make sure that a chain winch had used strap next to the boat in case of breaks while driving on the road.

The stern or rear of the boat must be secured by means of a mechanism of heavy duty ratchet or a strong rope nylon strap, it is incidental in his sailboat or worse still to prevent even avoid dropping the trailer to hold. As soon as you connect trailer to the tow vehicle and before heading out to the highway, is a good idea for a last quick review to make sure that everything is in order.

Make a Visual inspection of the tyres in the rule, see that the lights are connected to the safety chains are secured and the problem is ensured for the start of the towing vehicle. Then I make sure that the sailboat in the arch with the winch and safety chain is together with the rear nylon as well as protected belt. I am also sure that the engine of the boat is secured and closes the hole in the gas cap. And check the mast, so as to see if it is secured to the boat.

For a few minutes for a final report on the trailer and the boat giving a piece of mind while towing the boat to your destination. It is also a good idea to keep and eye on the sailboat and trailer while driving, because anything can happen at any time.

Tips:

It is a good idea to carry a spare trailer tire, should you have one. This allows you to change a flat and not have to leave your sailing boat on the side of the road to pick up a replacement while.

Beginner candle - einwintern your sailboat

I don't like to admit it, but here in the Northeast as soon as you reach November low temperature air and water like a stone, and unless you have a wet/dry suit, is time to put the boat for the winter. Which leads to really do what is worse that in November, the winds are very impressive and blows constantly. However reluctantly, I put my boat for the winter and thought to share with you how I did it. First I'm going to do everything from sailing as pillows, anchors, ropes, wants to do and more importantly the 12 volt battery that I use to run auxiliary lights. Also make sure that the main arm of candles completely dry until it is formed during the winter. Save most of all like sails in the basement and some other things, like the pillow in my shed.

My next concern is sure that water out of the hull of the boat is a draw as in the area of the cabin and the other in the cabin area, has no. In the cabin is like a hole without pump sump pump and I have to use a vacuum to remove water that has accumulated, otherwise it would freeze and cause that significant damage to the fiberglass hull.

Tip of the candle in this year I also advantage, a nice warm day lighting then the trailer to move my followers, so I now tip, water comes in the trailer are deep low at the beginning of my boat. If moving, I would not be at the tip of the trailer from the ramp of the ship hit the lights, and that damage. I was glad that I took me around now, rather than waiting until next spring, if I stay with candle, in contrast with the installation of lights at this time.

Once I the sailboat with a canvas cover everything out of the boat, large enough to cover from the stern to the bow. He said the canvas with ropes bungee, trailers, to sustain it. The mast and BOOM are used as well as a coffee table, if you want to, a canvas roof in the upper part of the ship makes it to scale easily from water and snow. Also cover the boat winch with a piece of pipe, that naturally curls around it and seat cover towing hitch with a bucket of 5 gallon also dry and slip through the characteristics of the voltage of metal. I have 3 cats of rv, I use to ensure the trailer by the weight of the snow load, that can accumulate during the winter. I have one of the guys in the center of the long trailer tongue and two back on each side of the frame of the trailer, the damage is to avoid that additional snow weight. Wet snow and ice can be very difficult and could emphasize weight frame trailer beyond its borders.

Sailing beginners - I handling your sailboat

In this sailing beginner articles / wanted to discuss the rudder steering self for sailboats. There appears to be some self-guided methods or what I call automatic control of the direction of a sailboat.

You can presses self-steering sailing capacity for letting go of the tiller to fix a meal, a candle to pass out, or simply a break without the boat's course. The solution can be imposed on a little effort a distraction even complicated and expensive. I would like to focus on auto management solution less expensive first known as the leaf one same direction rudder mechanism is relatively simple, but works pretty well.

The cultivator is operated by a rope, which is attached on one side and on the other hand to pen with a pulley between them, which is mounted on the side of the boat. On the other side of the tiller joins a string of bungee, to pull the rope of the rise of the force in the tiller in the opposite direction counter acts. That indeed has a rope pulled by the mast of the tiller to one side and a string of bungee on the other, which moves in the opposite direction. Moving in the same direction, so the rope in the tiller in the opposite direction it is connected so that the wind meets the mainsail, boom is affected by management as against the boat and to keep on course. The bungee may in various sizes, which through the pen on the other side of the tiller contrary to the intensity of the wind, which is attached to the other side of the tiller.

Another method that is used is a plastic windvane, and like the wind the flag moves in the opposite direction, that effects of blowing the whole included separate rudder to the boat in the other direction, the direction in the square. It works on the same principle as described above, but it is more complicated and more expensive also. Also to use the Weathercock, which blocked the tiller locks into place by a rope or chain, then take the rudder that contain is control over the management of the for sailor to abandon control of the boat to do other things like cooking a meal or whatever you have. Both systems work equally well and depending on how much you want to spend to decide what management system auto, ultimately to deal with you.
